YouTube star Corey La Barrie died in a car accident on his 25th birthday.
Police reported that La Barrie was driving a McLaren sports car with “Ink Master” star Daniel Silva on the evening of Sunday 10th of May.
The two “somehow crashed into a traffic sign and a tree … the passenger suffered the blow”. The police did not confirm who was driving the car, and reported that they are currently investigating the cause of the car accident. But later announced that the driver was Daniel Silva.
Both Corey and Daniel were taken to a Los Angeles hospital, however, La Barrie’s mother Lissa Burton said in an Instagram post that he died at the scene. Silva was said to have been treated for a broken hip.
“on my sons 25 birthday today he was very drunk and got into a car with a drunk driver.” she wrote. “The accident killed him instantly. No words can describe the sadness I feel in loosening a child. It just feels so unreal and I’m overwhelmed with grief. I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It’s just so unfair.”
Corey’s brother Jarad shared a similar article and said, “This isn’t something i thought i would ever have to sit here and type out for a very long time or what i wanna do right now but everyone deserves to know, my brother Corey passed away last night in a car accident with his drunk friend driving…”
He continued: “this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do i don’t know how I’m supposed to do this without you i miss you so much already this isn’t fair thank you for always being the best big brother i could ask for i love you so f*****g much life’s never gonna be the same without you R.I.P❤️ P.S say hi to grandpa and grandma for me i love you”
Both tributes were very sad to read but they weren’t the only ones, many celebrities paid tribute via twitter to Corey.
Tana Mongeau said:” corey was one of the kindest kids i ever met in this city no cap. my heart is heavy today….. to everyone he was close to, which i can truly think of SO many people… my heart is broken for you & if you need anything i’m a text away.”
She continued after almost an hour with another tweet: ” if u guys have time today please show love to jc, kian, chelsey, ayla, crawford, bobby, harrison & anderson, dom, & all the ppl in corey’s life…. the light he brought was unmatched & they need that love rn. my heart aches for them”
Tana Mongeau also raised awareness about drunk driving and said:”don’t ever f*****g drive drunk. how dare that kid god i’m so f*****g angry”, she followed then with two other tweets about how amazing Corey was.
Faze Adapt also paid tribute with a first tweet:” It’s so scary knowing at any second you could be gone…R.I.P. Corey La Barrie. Its f*****g tragic, I still can’t believe it.”
Then he went to talk about his relationship with Corey : “I wasn’t good friends with Corey, but I would see him out a lot and every time i would talk to him he was really kind and it always seemed like he was having such a good time. Gone way too f*****g soon. R.I.P”.
Tessa Brooks also wrote a nice tribute about Corey and said:” this doesn’t feel real.. corey brought so much joy and laughter into my life and everyone around him. my prayers go out to his family and everyone who knew him or looked up to him… rest in peace corey”
La Barrie was part of a popular YouTube duo with Crawford Collins. And had more than 335,000 subscribers. on his channel, in which his last video was named “Deleting This Video In 24 Hours….” where he invites everyone to watch his Birthday live streaming.
