The most popular esports organization in the world announced on a tweet the arrival of Fashion pandemic face masks for sell on their online shop.
Faze Clan also announced that “Portions of all proceeds will be donated to efforts providing the much needed medical PPE to healthcare workers.” which turned out to be donatePPE.org an initiative started by a volunteer group of engineers and doctors organized under the mission of protecting healthcare workers on the front lines by providing them personal protective equipments. Their GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $56k out of $100k goal from late March till now.
These face masks are claimed to be 100% Polyester, Triple Layer Protection. The E-sport organization’s website Fazeclan.com defines them as Moisture Wicking, Anti-Microbial, Hypoallergenic, Breathable, Washable and Reusable but also warns buyers about the masks not certified N95 respirators. However, they can still serve as a barrier to mitigate the spread of germs, serve as a reminder for wearers to not touch their face, and help provide an alternative mask that can be used when an N95 is not required.
The masks have caused some backlash online towards Faze Clan accusing them of trying to profit off of a pandemic, and some comparing their masks to Logan Paul’s non surgical pandemic masks.
